Logics Academy is pleased to announce a partnership with Let’s Talk Science to develop a Minecraft Education world featuring content from the Canadian Space Agency (CSA) set for release in November 2024.
In collaboration with the Let’s Talk Science development team, Logics has created Tomatosphere™ Adventure. This space-themed world including narrative, visuals and dialogue is inspired by CSA’s participation in the Artemis II mission around the Moon and the Starliner-1 mission to the International Space Station.
The world will introduce two CSA astronauts, Joshua Kutryk and Jenni Gibbons, as non-playable characters (NPC’s). The goal of this experience is to educate students about extending the boundaries of human space travel beyond Earth’s orbit, focusing on lunar missions and Mars exploration. The Minecraft world will be available to students and educators in both English and French and can be accessed here: https://letstalkscience.ca/TSadventure / https://parlonssciences.ca/AventureTS.
Let’s Talk Science has been a champion of space education in Canada for many years, partnering with the Canadian Space Agency on numerous projects and initiatives from Tomatosphere™ to the Lunar Rover Research Challenge. They are committed to preparing youth in Canada for future careers and citizenship demands in a rapidly changing world. Tomatosphere™, which the Minecraft world is inspired by, is a hands-on program that builds scientific inquiry and experimentation skills where students investigate the effects of outer space on seed germination. Together with Logics Academy, a Learning Experience Design organization with deep expertise in Minecraft Education used for teaching and learning, the team is excited to see this new world come to life and reflect the exciting state of Canada’s space landscape.
