Join us as we embark on a 4-part music, coding and social justice journey for grades 6 and up!
Think it’s impossible to create your own hip hop tracks while learning powerful coding skills, social justice and AI? Think again! Remix beats from iconic artists like Pharrell and Alicia Keys, discover fresh samples from Canadian talents like Samian, Dakota Bear, and Jaylee Wolf, and build your own unique music using other royalty-free samples.
While you’re creating musical masterpieces, you’ll also be learning the fundamentals of Python coding. Let the code become your instrument, manipulate sounds, sequence beats, and push the limits of your creativity, creating music mixes you never thought possible.
Once you’ve got the hang of it, we’ll have a meaningful discussion on racism and equity to encourage deep thinking about these issues and how your voice can contribute meaningfully, before finally introducing AI into the mix in a thoughtful and safe way.
Ready to code the rhythm, drop the beat and have important conversations about Social Justice and AI in Songwriting? Join us for this 4-part series, featuring the team from Logics Academy in partnership with Google Canada, BreakBeatCode and Your Voice is Power. These lessons are geared towards Grade 6+ students who are new to coding, but all experience levels are welcome!
