Description: Explore with your students in this year’s Computer Science Education Week, an activity around using math to learn about different rocks and minerals. Explore the world of Rocklandia with the help of three scientists visiting from the Royal Ontario Museum. Through Coding, Math and Science, learn more about the different rocks and minerals as students reflect their learning in inclusive ways.
Objectives:
Make observations and gather information about igneous, sedimentary, and metamorphic rocks and minerals
Use consecutive, concurrent, repeated and nested coding to overcome a series of obstacles
Create a museum of rocks and minerals to reflect their learning, with an emphasis on inclusivity and accessibility
