Challenge
The National Film Board of Canada (NFB) was looking to conduct an educator feedback initiative designed to evaluate new NFB content forms and ensure they effectively support classroom teaching. As NFB continues to expand its interactive and curriculum‑aligned educational resources, the organization sought authentic insights from teachers who represent Canada’s linguistic, regional, and grade‑level diversity. While the NFB has an existing educator group, the involvement of Logics Academy allowed for fresh, less biased perspectives on the new formats in development. This pilot aimed to gather practical classroom‑based perspectives on usability, clarity, and student engagement while ensuring that the feedback came not only from NFB‑affiliated educators but from a broad range of teaching environments.
Solution
To meet this need, Logics Academy recruited and contracted seven Canadian teachers—five English‑speaking and two French‑speaking—to review selected NFB resources, including the Kings Court Interactive Playbook, Quick Start Guides, and Reel Lessons. The challenge was to design a process that offered meaningful, structured feedback within a consistent timeframe, while giving teachers the option to implement the lessons with their students. Each educator was allotted time to explore the materials and complete NFB‑provided survey questions, ensuring a focused yet flexible review experience. By coordinating teacher recruitment, communication, and data collection, Logics Academy helped NFB gain actionable insights to refine and strengthen its educational offerings.
Results
This feedback pilot provided NFB with high‑value insights from a diverse group of educators across Canada. Teachers highlighted ease‑of‑use strengths, opportunities to refine clarity and classroom flow, and recommendations for increasing curriculum alignment and student engagement. By leveraging Logics Academy’s educator network and project management expertise, NFB was able to gain meaningful classroom‑relevant feedback without the need for internal coordination or educator outreach. The initiative strengthened the development of NFB’s interactive and media‑rich educational resources and provided a scalable model for future educator engagement projects.
